Show GROWERS PLAN APPLE CAMPAIGN Utah apple growers, meeting on Tuesday at the Hotel Utah, formed a stabilisation committee to find a market for an estimated storage of 100,000 bushels and give this state's product preference over that of other oth-er states. Although Utah apples, notably Jonathans, are regarded as superior, other states are usurping the market, mar-ket, It was pointed out. A. C. Page of Payson and J. A. Howell of Ogden were named a committee to visit retailers and urge purchase of Utah apples and their sales promotion. Fred Scholes of Pleasant Grove and A lam a Van Wegenen of Provo were named to visit hotels, restaurants, restau-rants, railroads and other outlets to urge that they feature Utah apples on menus. Apple weeks will be observed December De-cember 6, February 1 and March to aid the drive. Dr. W. C. Spalding of Provo was named chairman of the drive. |
