Show - , " ' J It is generally agreed that negroes are "born to dance," but heretofore, this talent has been confined to dance hall jazi, tapping and the interpretation of African rituals. Not until un-til three years ago, through the medium of the Von Grona scholarships, did the modern negro learn to interpret and express himself in modern ballet. This is one phase from the first presentation of the first negro ballet at the LaFayette theater in New York's Harlem. The ballet is called "St. Louis Women." |
