Show Dr. Beck Heads Provo Golfers Special to Tbe Telegram PROVO, Nov. 23 Dr. J. Karl Beck, local physician, was elected president of the Timpanogos Golf association at the Hotel Roberts Monday night. Others elected are Andrew Broaduss, vice president; Clyde Clark, Jack Braunagel, Jack Stark and Tom Pierpont, directors Trophies won during the summer were presented as follows: Directors' Direc-tors' eup. May, Bill Haas; June, Harold Shriver; July. Andrew Broaduss, and August, R. A. Hansen. Han-sen. City open champion Dave Crow-ton Crow-ton was awarded a statuette of a golfer in action and W. L. Snow, runner up. was given a smaller award. The president's eup was awarded to R. A. Hansen, who was also given a gold button signifying his membership in the hole in one club for hia ace on tha sixth hole this summer. The ringers' tourney award was made to Harley Corleis-son. Corleis-son. J. Edwin Stein, former president, acted as - toastmaster. He advocated advo-cated an improved course and a program of larger membership or increased dues to make the course self-supporting. A vote of thanks to Wendell Hoover, coursekeeper; . Walter P. Whitehead, commissioner in charge I of recreation, and Lee Buttle, manager, man-ager, was passed by tha group. . . |
