Buddhism is basically Japan's religion. It was Introduced to Japan from Korea in 552 A. D.. Japan's written language also came from China, through Korea. In 270 Korean ambassadors visited Japan, introducing the Chinese language, lan-guage, which for more than 1000 years formed an important factor in Japan's educational system, injecting Confucianism intojthe foundation of Japan's moral and literary education. In 606 an intense study of the Chinese classics prepared the way for the growth of a new Japanese national literature. Japan's military science actually originated in China with the treatises of Sung and 'Ng, Chinese generals of the third century A. D., classics of Far Eastern captains through the centuries. |
