Senator Hanna was the guest of honor at the annual banquet of the Syracuse Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce last night. About 400 covers were laid. Senator Hanna discussed "Capital and Labor," speaking at length. "Conciliation, prevention of hostility, is the one object sought by this organization, and not once has it failed." declared the speaker. The Senator preached the equality of man. "I stand." he declared, "on the broad platform ' that In this great brotherhood of men we are all equal. I stand on the platform that every man who has the power to do service to his municipality. State and Nation and to his Maker, owes to himself the use of that power to its fullest extent to do that which will produce the best for humanity." ' Senator Hanna referred to the prosperity pros-perity of the country, and said that with a continuance of good understanding, understand-ing, between the representatives of labor la-bor and capital he could see no reason why such prosperity should not continue. |
