Rockefeller, president of the Standard Oil company and the owner of untold millions, spent Just one hour and twenty-five minutes In Salt .Lake this morning on his way east from California. Cal-ifornia. lie reached here on a special train composed of his own cars and that of J. A. Edson, manager of the Rio Grande system, and General Superintendent J. H. Young of the Western at 7:50 this morning. In company with these men and Mrs. Rockefeller the oil magnate attended a special organ recital at the Tabernacle, at the conclusion of which he drove about the city for half an hour i and then returned to his train, which left for Denver at 9:15. - Mr. Rockefeller declared that his trip to California was merely for pleasure and for his health, which has been greatly benefited. ' On his former visit to this city, about a year sgo, Mr. Rockefeller was traveling trav-eling in the ordinary Pullman coaches in use on the Western roads, but this time, he has a luxuriously appointed train. |
