Show PROMINENT PIONEER OF UTAH IS DEAD George C. Bourne, a Salt Laker Sine 1855, Succumbs' to Paralysis; Funeral Thursday. George C. Bourne, who came to Utah in 1855 and has lived here continuously from that time died at his home In Salt Lake yesterday, after an illness . of several iyears, from paralysis. .'. ! Mr. Bourne, who was born in Ledbury, Herefordshire, England, in 1S31, came to jUt ah when 24 years of age, and -has since been associated with the development of the State. He has held the position of manager of the grocery department of the Z. C. M. 1. ever since its organization, and previous to that he had charge of the ox team freighting between Salt Lake and Den- ver. Mr. Bourne leaves four sons and a daughter, all residing in this city. The funeral services will be held next Thursday at 2 p. m. from the Fourteenth ward assembly-rooms on West First South street. |
