This is the highest ioint which has been 4- reached In nearly a year, and as the advance has been steady and -f- gradual, it is very likely that It will continue to advance at least until the first of the year. The advance --4V --4V of a fraction of a cent does not - seem great to the uninitiated, but 4 when the enormous tonnage of the 4 4- Utah mines Is considered, most of 4-4 4-4 which contains at least some per- 4 4- centage of silver, the amount which 4 4 comes to the producer of this 4 4 State Is augmented greatly and the 4. 4 managers of the Utah mines are ail 4 4 rejoicing. Of course, the time of 4 4 year has a great deal to do with 4 4 the advance, but this is not regard- 4 4 ed as the main reason, and a long 4 4 era of prosperity Is foretold for the 4 4 silver mines of this country. Cop- 4 4 per also has advanced mightily in 4 4 the past few weeks, and the price, 4 4- 13c per pound, brings joy to the 4 4 producers. The demand for the red 4-4- metal seems to be increasing all the 4-4 4-4 time, and the advance is looked up- 4 4- on as permanent. Lead in ores con- 4 4 tinues at the same old price of J3.50 4 4 per 100 pounds, although the A. S. 4 4 & R. Co.'s actual average weekly 4 4- sales price for desilverized domes- 4 4- tic lead in New York Is $4.20 per loo 4 4 pounds. |
