Campaign committees were named In each precinct to conduct the campaign. The American party will hold a mass convention at the Grand opera-house Wednesday night, at which time there will be nominated six candidates; one each In the First. Second, Third and Fifth and two In the Fourth. Conventions, in All Five 1 Precincts Offer Candidates Candi-dates for the Board cf -Education. Conventions for the nomination of six candidates for the Board of Education v,were held Monday night under the Joint call Issued by the RepubUcan and Democratic Dem-ocratic committees. In the First precinct C. S. Martin, a coal, dealer and second . counselor to Bishop Christensen of the Tenth ward, was nominated to succeed P. Frank Brantlng. But two names were placed before the convention, that of Mr. Martin Mar-tin and. William M. Thompson, secretary secre-tary of the Consolidated Mercur and Uncle Sam Mining companies. Both are Republicans. The vote resulted In 138 for Martin and 86 for Thompson. . In the Second, precinct A. O. Giauque, Mormon Democrat, waa nominated to succeed himself. . In the Third, Oscar W. Moyle, Mormon Mor-mon Democrat, was nominated to succeed suc-ceed himself. Eisides Mr. Moyle the names of William D. Neal and Dr. E. 8. Wright were placed before the convention. con-vention. The vote showed 76 for Moyle, So for Neal and 22 for Dr. Wright. On motion of Mr. Neal. seconded by Dr. Wright, the nomination was made unanimous. ' j In- the Fourth two candidates were I nominated, one for the four-year term and one for the two-year term. The names of Mathonihah Thomas, present member of the board, and Glen Miller were placed before the convention for the four-year term. The ballot showed $7 for Thomas and 37 for Miller. For the short term H. C. Edwards was nominated nom-inated by acclamation to succeed . Joseph Jo-seph Geoghegan. Mr. Thomas is a Mormon Democrat and Mr. Edwards a Gentile Republican.
