Show MONEY HAS .VANISHED Ho Trace Found of Sum . Intrusted tu Former County CIcrL A petition for letters of administration tn the estate of William Mahoney. waa filed with the County Clerk Saturday. The petition is signed by William Mir honey, an uncle who says that his nephew died In 1S90. lie says that in 1890 and for some time prior thereto the deceased waa a sailor in the United States navy, but that In 1392 be was discharged and that since that data the relative have been unable to hear anything as to hia whereabout. where-about. In 1890 a decree was entered In the Third Judicial District court of the then Territory Terri-tory In the case entitled Mthoney et al. against Mahoney et al. and that by thut decree the deceased was awarded V10.14. In January, l&rt), the amount was paid Into the hands of the Clerk of the District court to be held In trust for the deceased and since that date no one authorized to do so has demanded the money. The amount was transferred from the Clerk of the District court to his successors succes-sors until January, 1S96, when It waa transferred to lhe Clerk of Salt Lake county. Since January, 1896. the amount. $610.14 has been lost or mislaid and since said date no record appears in the office of the clerk showing where the money was deposited. The petitioner prays that he be appointed ap-pointed guardian with authority to collect the amount and to look after the affairs of the deceased. |
