Titus, the champion sculler, who last season competed with Henley for the diarhond eculls as the representative of the Union Beat club on the Harlem, but who was expelled from that organization on his return from England, has brought suit to compel his reinstatement. Titus is now a member of 'the Atlanta At-lanta club, from which his challenges for the sculls for the' coming , season have been forwarded to England. The challenges have the indorsement of the National Rowing association. . The trouble with the Union club developed de-veloped into accusations against the sculler's standing in the amateur ranks. It was said he received 50 from James Pilklngton, chairman of the Harlem Rowing association. Mr. Pilklngton declared de-clared that this was his contribution to - the fund being raised by the club to defray the sculler's expenses. |
