The Shaver-McLaughlin version 'of the Salt Palace wrestling exhibition, given last summer by Eugene Thompson Thomp-son and D. C. McLaughlin, as published In yesterday's Telegram, was the sub-Jest sub-Jest of much comment in sporting circles cir-cles today. The story, in fact, caused little less than a sensation among those who saw the Salt Palace affair and bet their money on it. Thompson is indignant over the matter, mat-ter, and wonders how McLaughlin ever expects to get the public's confidence. Thompson' insists that both he and McLaughlin went in for blood, although al-though they were required by the management man-agement to make It an exhibition, and not to let It go over thirty minutes. |
