Show SLIGHT GAIN IN PRICES Opening Depression on Wall Street Overcome Before Noon. NEW YORK, June 2. Large selling of a few individual stocks weighed on the opening market today and caused generally fractional recessions. Canadian Cana-dian Pacific was sold down 1. A slump In the London copper market induced a fall of IK in Amalgamated Copper. Leather preferred lost a point and Sugar 'was down . . Continued Con-tinued selling of what are generally known as the Canadian group induced further recessions in the active list, but) supporting orders dumped in the standard group rallied them strongly! Southern Pacific rose to 60 and Atchison, At-chison, Rock Island and the other Pacific Pa-cific stocks sold a large fraction above yesterday's close. St. Paul advanced a point. Metropolitan Street Railway 1 and Amalgamated and Leather preferred pre-ferred wiped out their earlier losses of 11V4. The market all around was rising sharply at 11 o'clock. A break In Amalgamated to 2 below last night interrupted the advance. Canadian Pacific dropped 3 under last night and Twin City Rapid Transit 9. Westinghouse Electric lost 4 and recovered re-covered 1. Northwestern lost 1. The reaction generally was fractional and did not carry the list back to the low point. Bonds at noon were irregular. Liquidation was renewed on a heavy scale in the Canadian group. Twin City Rapld Transit broke to al oea over night of 13V and the preferred Mock declined de-clined 4. Minneapolis. St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie common lost 4S and the preferred pre-ferred 6. Canadian Pacific sold at a loss of V.
