Show REPORT ON RESERVOIR Kclsey Finds That Parley's Canyon Storage Plan Will Cost $321,414. City Engineer Kelsey submitted his report on the proposed storage reservoir reser-voir In Parley's canyon to the City Council last night. The report was referred to the Reservoir Res-ervoir Site, Finance and Waterworks committees, which were instructed to report Monday nl;ht. Mr. Kelsey's report recommends that the- reservoir be located at-the forks In Parley's canyon and that steel faced rock-filled dams be adopted. The dam Is to be 106 feet high. JO feet wide at the top, and 285 feet thick at the bottom. The reservoir will cover an area of 92 acres and will have a eapaelty of 1.003,-000,000 1.003,-000,000 Rations. It Is estimated that tha reservoir with steel faced rock-fill d.im as recommended will cost 35,414.63. The estimated cost with concrete masonry dam Is So21.414.C3. The construction of this reservoir would give the city a supply of water to the full capacity of the Parley's canyon conduit, 21,0u0,000 gallons daily, for a period of sixty days during- the dry season, but in order that the city may get the greatest benefit from this reservoir the City Engineer recommends that a distributing dis-tributing reservoir be constructed In City Creek canyon. The estimated cost of such a reservoir at the high-line Intake, with a capacity of 6.000,00i gallons s $45,000. |
