Art had left $5 with ' the desk sergeant, which amount was ; declared forfeited. Mr. Hoppy re- sponded to the roll call and said that i he guessed he was guilty. He cer tainly looked it. Mr. Hoppy contributed contrib-uted $5 to the citv. -' J. King and Charles Davis were charged with vagrancy. J. and Charles, in an earnest tone of voice. informed the court that they wonld like to leave -town. They were given until midnight to "do so. Jacob Pollia. an Italian, through an Interpreter, informed the court that he was guilty of taking a few pieces' of wood for kindling from near the track of the Bio Grande Western. It cost Jacob 5. J. Leonard was charged with being drunk. J. informed the court that it was his first appearance and that he had just come in from Bingham. Mr. Leonard, according to the arresting officer, of-ficer, was not only druns, but he created cre-ated a disturbance. "Five dollars or five days," announced the court. .' N W J. Thompson was charged with being drunk and also with trespass. W. J. said that he had a weak heart and that he wanted to leave town. "You will be discharged this time," said the court. "Get out," said Bailiff Hilton. When the ease of Harry Newcomb, charged with assault and battery, was called, Assistant City Attorney Daly informed in-formed the court that one of the witnesses wit-nesses was out at Garfield and that he could not be gotten to town until this afternoon. -'. The attorney for the defendant de-fendant again requested that the bail of $10 be released. The court could not see it that way and the oail was continued. con-tinued. :' The case against E. T. Withers, who was eharged with vagrancy, was dismissed dis-missed after the court had heard the testimony. E. T. was arrested several days ago and the ease has been con tinned from time to time. |
