George H. Pippy, the relief commission appointed on July 1 to assume charge of the situation in San Francisco," is to be abolished on August Aug-ust 1. . Dr. Edward T. Devine, representative of the National Bed Cross, has already announced his impending departure for the East, and Edward T. Moran, the third commissioner, has also tendered his resignation, and the disposition of the fund containing millions ia turned over to the executive committee, consisting con-sisting of James Phelan, M. H. De Young, Rudolph Spreskels, F. W. Dohr-mann Dohr-mann and Thomas Magee. - The action taken' today eliminates three salaries of $6000 per year. Col. Pippy contributed the amount due him to the relief fund. , |
