Clark, the millionaire copper kino; and owner of the Salt Lake road, will sail from France on October 5, arriving in New York City on October 12. He will hurry to Bait Lake and take a train over Lis own line to Los Angeles. From that city he will come to San Francisco and then make his way to his home in Butte. The coming of Clark to California is taken to mean that-ue intends looking over the properties of .the Sierra railway, with a view to their purchase and extension. - This railroad is owned by 8a n Francisco and Los Angeles capital, and. runs from Oakdale vis Jamestown to Sonora and Angels' Camp. It has already begun an electrie extension into the Yosemite valley. From the Goldfield terminal on Mr. Clark's road to the Yosemite the distance in an aif line is almost exactly 150' rhiles.vA railroad would be somewhat longer. However, a good route can be made' by the Sonora Pass through the Sierras, which Vould bring it into the San Joaquin valley and into striking distance dis-tance ot Stocktonand through a rich, country, ' .-.
