Show DISCOVERIES IN HUMBOLDT. The recent gold and silver discoveries in Humboldt county, twenty-eight miles north of Humboldt station, on the Southern Pacifio railroad, continue to attract many Salt Lakers, and it is reported re-ported that there are preparations be-fnar be-fnar made by crowds for going in from Tonopah and Goldfield. There are two towns, it appears, springing up in the district, one to be called Rosebud and the other Powhattan; but the district is known as Rosebud, and it is altogether likely that the development of town-sites town-sites will not change this name. People going in with, supplies and horses and. wagons are advised to ship to' Mill City, on the Southern. Pacific, because . there ar ' facilities there in the shape of freight teams for transportation trans-portation immediately which so far are not available at HumWdt station. The latter place, on the other hand, is regarded re-garded as the best junction point for people going in "light," as the facilities facili-ties are available for passenger traffic, and it is ten miles nearer the new camp. Will J. Lawrence and associates, including in-cluding CD. Rooklidge, are preparing a consignment today for Mill City, consisting con-sisting of horses aad wagons, and grain and provisions, with whicn they expect to thoroughly exploit the district as early as possible. , ' 8o little is known of tbe resources of the region yet that many strikes are expected to be "turned up", by the Crowds of prospectors, and it is hoped by the Lawrence syndicate to have all ' .
