Cottish Chief occupied the principal at-: at-: V ' taction of brokers' and ' traders ' this anoruing on the Salt Lake Mining Stock exchange. ;'j ' X Prices were weakening and in the absence ab-sence of demand from the East trans-actions trans-actions were rather leas in total volume than for the preceding few days. It . was believed, however, that the relaxa-' relaxa-' tion of the enormous etrenuosity which ' '-. has been prevailing for two weeks would be but temporary and, in fact, the lull in the trading activity of the forenoon was regarded as almost sure to be followed by. as much buying during the afternoon session as would bring ' the aggregate day's business np to the splendid daily averages recorded throughout the month. - . Efforts that are being made to bear . Carisa, and which were in evidence plainly during the session this morning, failed to materially alter the position of these issues. First sales at $1.22 Mi were followed by other deals that were not consummated, however, until the -price was -$L32H. One sale occurred of 3000 shares at $1.30. . . Fairview Eagle's Nest sales reached : - larger proportions than at any- time since this issue was listed. The priees were at 45 to 48 cents, and the largest was 1000 at 47. Lou Dillon at 49c. Silver Pick at $1.67 and Nevada Hills at $3.25 to $3.30 were all asked at lower prices, but sellers asked more money, and the action ac-tion therefore was nominal. Especially on Nevadas the tone is bullish and confidence con-fidence ' of the public continues to be v built that. way. - The.Tintic fist was all very firm, notwithstanding not-withstanding the sales were limited on ' ; all issues except Carisa, and standard price levels were very firm. The total sales reached 38,050 "shares, valued at $24.675. Quotations were as follows: Bid. - Atked. Albiou $ $ .60 Alice ...... 8.75 Ajar ... -.80 .83 - Cariea ............ . 1.25. 1.80 Con.
