Show ... ECHO DISTEICT. Concerning the Echo mining district of Inyo county. Cal., where many Salt Lakers have interests, John A. Kirby says, after making a recent inspection thereof: . "The Inyo County eompany has sent a shaft down to a depth of seventy feet, a drift has been sent along. the vein for fifteen feet and a crosscnt run for fourteen feet,; and the three workings work-ings all have been and still are in ore of a grade running from $16 to $150 per ton. The Borax Smith railroad will bring the mine within many more miles of railroad facilities than the Salt Lake Koute, and everything seems to be combining - to place this excellent property in a better light. It is one of the greatest milling propositions in the West, and when the development shall have been carried on far enough, there will be a big plant erected of the moat up-to-date character. ' |
