Show RONEY'S BOYS " SING TONORROW ' . 1 "Roney's Boys," five in number, wfll render one of their famous programmes of song and music In the Tabernacle Saturday afternoon and evening. Thts will be the first appearance of the famous quintette In Salt Lake. The Roney Concert- company Is composed entirely of American boys selected py Henry B. Roney while on his tours. The boys are educated and trained both for their musical career and afttx life by Mr. Roney, who Is himself a bachelor. Conducting these concert tours Is his hobby and every year five boys enjoy a trip through every State In the Union and portions of Canada and Cuba. The tads are taken to all points of Interest In every locality visited vis-ited and thus learn more of their country coun-try than can be gleaned from years 4f study within schoolroom walls. j The company numbers five members. Including Tracy Holbrook, the young violin virtuoso. Bermlse Amspoker Is a 13-year-old product of Chicago and has won the hearts of every hearer with his wonderfully developed bass voice. He Is probably the youneest basso on the American stage tt a$ Paul and Percy Ballard hall from Ohio and Harry Schultz comes from .sunny Texas. j Ten years ago Mr. Roney was choirmaster choir-master and organist In the Grace Epl-, Epl-, copal church of Chicago. He conducted conduct-ed the eminently successful trip of Blatchford Kavanaugh. the "Boy Pat-tl." Pat-tl." and this gave him his inspiration to organize a concert company whose personnel per-sonnel would comprise talented boy. The melody and richness of a boy's ! voice when carefully trained Is sweeter sweet-er than the warbling of birds. The combined harmony of the wonderful voices of the five "Roney boys" has stirred the responsive hearts of all listeners. Despite the care and attention atten-tion devoted to the boys, their need for recreation Is not overlooked. The boys climb hills, romp through grain fields, shin up trees and do everything dear to the heart of the active, strong-hearted, stout-limbed American tad. I |
