Miss Edith Have-meyer Have-meyer of New York must be added to the list of "bachelor girls" who are becoming be-coming more and more numerous In London. Miss Havemeyer, who Is an attractive girl, has become so enamored of London that she declines to leave it. She has, however, a very independent spirit as well as an Independent income- When she left her married sister. Mrs. Adair Campbell, much to the latter's regret, she kept house on a twelve months' lease. Mrs. Campbell insisted on a chaperon. Miss Havmeyer obtained one, but at the end of eight months she has become be-come tired of the house and has now taken another. She has had an excellent excel-lent time as a "bachelor girl, with her own latch key," until lately, when she and her chaperon were both poisoned by food in some mysterious way, and are only Just recovering from the effects. |
