Show THREHTS AGHINST LIFE Of ALBERT KEETHELER; MURDER TRIAL NOW ON - - " Evidence that the life of Albert Keetheler is in danger should he be acquitted of muder, for which he Is now on trial in Judge Armstrong's court was glr'en this morning by his stepdaughter Mrs. Una Duvall, widow of Frank Duvall for whose death Keetheler is being tried. Mrs. Duvall created quite a sensation this morning when she declared that she had heard a person say that Keetheler would not live long if he was acquitted of the charge of murder. "I heard a man say that if Keetheler gets off in this trial he would not live long." f,ald Mrs. Duvall. "What was the man's name," she was asked. "I don't know," she replied. "Who is he?" "I don't know, only his name Is Mc-Kenzle." Retell Story of Shooting. Mrs. Duvall was the principal witness. wit-ness. She retold the story of the shoot-Ing shoot-Ing ,on October 2, at 252 State street. She asserted that there were no blows struck In the fight between Duvall and Keetheler. Miss Violet Gertrude Preston, fourteen four-teen years old, Keetheler' stepdaughter, stepdaugh-ter, was called to the witness stand. She told of the fight In the bedroom and how Duvall after the shooting had run around the house to the front where he fell dead. Miss Preston de-c'lred de-c'lred that her stepfather Ill-treated her several times. Policeman Burton who made the arrest, ar-rest, after the shooting, was also a witness. He said he found Keetheler walking into the street after the shooting shoot-ing with the smoking revolver In his hand. Where Duvall Hit Him. The policeman says that Keetheler was bleeding at the nose. When the defendant was asked by the officer what caused it, he is alleged to have replied that it was where Duvall had struck him. According to the officer, screams were heard soon after the shooting and when he arrived at the njace he found Duvall's body laying on the porch at the side of the house and Keetheler said he 'was going to the police station to give himself up. |
