Bolles, the manager of, Lawson and McFarland, the crack American riders who are now In Australia. They all start Mar 8 for borne, and will come Immediately to Bait Lake, as the following; letter shows: Sydney, Australia. March 26. 1905. W. 3. Clark, Salt Lake: My Dear Bill: I think the last letter I wrote you was from Melbourne. We have been here about two weeks. Both Lawson and McFarland have qualified for the big race meet ("The Sydney Thousand"), and It looks good. The final will . be run tomorrow night (27th). and aa the mall boat leaves tomorrow to-morrow noon. I will be unable to tell you the outcome of the race until next mall. There Is .great Interest abown by the public pub-lic in this race, and there will be fully 80,-000 80,-000 people at the grounds tomorrow night That'avqulte "some crowd," eh. Bill? After we finish here we go back to Melbourne Mel-bourne for two big meets. "The Eight Hours" and "The Druids Meeting." - These two . meetings finish the season, and we leave on the Sonoma on May 8 for home. Lawson Intends to stop a while In Salt Lake. He has had a very success ful season, but has had a lot of hard racing, rac-ing, and Intends to take it easy for a .time. I . So we'll see you in good old Salt Lake.
