Show NOTABLES RETURN j FROM THE ORIENT SAN FRANCISCO, April 30. The Pacific Pa-cific Mail company's steamship Korea arrived ar-rived today from the Orient with about 200 passengers and a good cargo. Among those who came from the Far East are Rear-Admiral Stirling, who is accompanied by his wife and daughter and son. L. Y. Stirling. Jr. The Admiral is going to his home in Baltimore, where he will be retired for age in May. Col. G. Hevard and CaDt. William V. Judson, United States military observers with Kuropatkln's army, who were captured cap-tured by the Japanese after the battle of Mukden and taken to Japan, where they were given their freedom, also arrived and will at once proceed East. Richard H. Little, the well-known war correspondent, who was also with the Russian army and was made a prisoner. Is on his way to Chicago. He was accompanied ac-companied across the Pacific by George Ade, who is returning from an extended trip. |
