Show Carnegie's Democratic Vievj. Andrew Carnegie hopes to die poor, but he is not proud that is, as pride is accounted. "I would -rather Nancy had married a poor, honest hon-est man than a worthless Duke," he said'in approval of his niece's marriage to her riding teacher. Perhaps Mr. Carnegte was merely making the best of what some people would regard as a bad largain, but nevertheless he speaks out in a w;ay that should add to the respect in which he is held by the American people. The seeking of titles by daughters of rich Americans Amer-icans is truly disgusting and it is cheering to know that a man of Mr. Carnegie's wealth holds such wholesome democratic views. . - ' ; - .- , .- |
