Show MEETING OF FREIGHT BUREAU IS POSTPONED. The unexplained non-arrival of W. A. Poteet. chairman of the Trans-Missouri freight bureau, which was to have met in this city at the Knutsford this morning, caused a postponement until tomorrow of the llrst day's meeting. Mr.- Poteet will arrive here this evening, according to telegraphed tel-egraphed advices. Several members of the bureau are already In the city. Among them are Peter Gregson, chief clerk of the Santa Fe at I.os Angeles; F. A. Vincent, Vin-cent, general agent of the same road at Santa Barbara; Fred Wild of the Denver & Rio Grande nt Denver. General Freight Agent Wood of tli Union Paciiic will b here during the day. The most important questions to be discussed dis-cussed are the freight rates on live stock and the reduction of the tariff on certain products manufactured In the Kast, for which a demand has been created in the West, but which cannot lie profitably filled on account of the high freight ia'.-s at present in force. |
