"The Peacemaker" la a raln-and-sunshlne sort of play, where the audience au-dience continually 1 finds Itself laughing through tears. It is pure, clean and wholesome a typical Irith play. The role ef the Irish priest. Father Whalen, was well sustained by "W. W. Blttner, who again demonstrated his popularity with the audience. Theodore Lorch as the young doctor was pleasingly portrayed. Harry Fahrney as 4he hero took well with the audience. The work of Misses Rowan, Blttner and Morrow was most creditable. The stage setting was good. "The Peacemaker" will be- seen three more nights. Friday . and Saturday a dramatization of Robert Louis Steven-, son's "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" will be seen, with Mr. Lorch In the dual role. This will close the three months' engagement engage-ment of this deservedly popular company, which immediately leaves for Denver, where It will fill -a three weeks' engage-, ment . under -the direction of the Denver Amusement company. . '. . . The record crowd for the season attended at-tended the opening bill of the week at Utahnavpark last night and saw one of the finest vaudeville programmes ever given in the city. The feature of the evening was the great Howard brothers, mental telepathlsts, whose feats In mind reading and second sight 'are little short of marvelous. One of the brothers, while blindfolded on the etage, will describe minutely mi-nutely any article which may be handed to the other brother, who moves through the audience. The other numbers are equally good. The programme will con- tinue throughout the sreek. Manager Gourley is dally improving the attractions , at the park, and has afforded the public a pleasant resort where a cool evening . may be spent with high-class vaudeville. |
