Because Oovernor Mabey did not accept the resignations formally In writing, being In readiness to depart for California at tha time, the efforts mads t withdraw ths resignations are being made. Up to this afternobhrCorrffhlssloner Ira H. Browning had not tendered his reelgnatlon, although It was requested by the governor at tha same tlms ths others were. At 11:10 .o'clock this morning ths sx-commlsslon members wsrs called Into conference with the governor aad an animated discussion resulted. ' It Is understood that Commissioner Browning will tender his resignation when a statement Is mads that will clear up certain matters and when It is agreed that tha new commission will carry out certain promises mads In connection with projects under his Jurisdiction. Ths proclamation appointing tha new road commissioners has been Issued Is-sued by the governor, but has not been ' sent to the secretary of state.
