E Child Sr pioneer resident o of this city willu b serve his seventy eighth birthday on Tuesday at the home of his daugn daugh Mrs Peterson DUO Due toa to toa a stroke which he suffered tso weeks week ago oo Mr Child Is confined to his bed but his condition Is La ing Mr Child was born in Salt on October 24 1855 He came to SprIngville with his parents Mr and Mrs Thomas Child the same year and has lived here since 4 j jAs As a brick mason he ho assisted In building many early homes and churches here He married Emily Whiting In the L. L D. D S. S Endowment house Salt Lake November G 6 1876 Mrs Child in 1911 He has four sons and Mrs George Peterson Mrs Andrew G. G Peterson Will and T. TsE Child Jr also nineteen grandchildren Although Mr Child has been blind several years he has enjoyed good 3 health until recently arid and has found his way generally unassisted aut town visiting friend and relative |
