BLIND ASTRONOMER PLANS RETIREMENT LAKE AKE GENEVA Wis June 29 ff The The blind astronomer of Yerkes ob observatory observatory Dr Edwin Brand Frost famous the world over for lor his knowledge of astrophysics is preparing preparing preparing ing to retire July 1 1 Dr Frost who will wUl be 66 68 years year old next month has been director of Yerkes observatory since 1905 He will be succeeded In that position by Dr Otto a Russian born but American naturalized scientist who has been connected with Yerkes for forthe forthe forthe the past ten years Although totally blind for several years Dr Frost continued his astro aStra astronomical astronomical work without Interruption except for a few w weeks ks last winter when Illness compelled him to take treatment in a Chicago hospital For a time it was feared he would not recover but he regained his strength and his present physical condition condition con con- is reported to be excellent For some time he has been at work on his autobiography which Is to be published soon oon
