FIGHTIN' BINGHAMITES REPORT (Continued from page one) In the group leaving for Far-ragu- t, Ida., Monday night were Don King, husband of Mrs. Bird-ie King, who, with son, Durrell, lives at No. 4 Freeman; Glen Farley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Farley of Copperton; Ned Jones, husband of Ada Wolfe Jones of 31 Main, Mr. Jones completed a four-yea- r enlistment in the navy on May, 1934. Pfc John A. Chiplan sent a cablegram received Monday which advised his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anast J. Chipian, that he had arrived safely at an ov-- I erseas destination. , Seaman 2 C John S. Gleason Jr. is at the University of Wis-consin at Madison, Wis., naval training school for a course in radio training. Com-mander L. K. Pollard, the com-manding officer at the school, recently wrote Mrs. Gleason, the former Maurine Jensen, that her husband spent 44 hours a week in the classrrinm. Seth Woodruff, formerly with U. S. Mines, is in training at Camp Roberts, Calif. Cpl. Nick Melich, who was re-turned from Iran, Persia, for treatment of a. far eastern dis-ease and a leg operation, has been at Bushnell hosnital three weeks. His mother, Mrs. Mary Melich of Highland Boy, visited him Sunday and says he is in good spirits. The couple's wedding plans are indefinite. The bride-to-b- e is a graduate of Bingham high school, class of 1943, and is employed at Walker Bank and Trust company, Salt Lake City. Pfc Churich, a 1942 graduate of Bingham high school and prominent in athletics, was em-bpleofoyreed by Utah Copper company he entered service in De-cember, 1943. He is stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif. William Allmark, Mrs. Ross Hocking. Assisting them will be Mrs. Mike Zampos, Mrs. Bob Jimas, Mrs. R. A. Murano, Mrs. Sam Feraco, Mrs. Mike Brisk, Mrs. C. A. Joyce Rawlings, seven-year-ol- d daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steph-en G. Rawlings, celebrated her birthday Tuesday with 14 friends and playmates. Games, birthday coke, ice cream and candy favors were enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Sparkes and Miss Helen Sparkes, Salt Lake City, visited the Rawlings' in the evening. Patty Rogerson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Rogerson, was five years old Tuesday af-ternoon. The 16 small guests played games, wore yellow paper hats and received yellow baskets filled with candy as favors. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew J. Jones entertained at dinner Saturday evening for Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gaeth of Salt Lake City. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. War-ren G. Alison. Mr. and Mrs. T. H. McMullin, Mr. and Mrs. Joel P. Jensen and Miss Morinda Grange. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Prigmore were hosts at a family party Sun-day, honoring their son, Martin Prigmore, who left Monday night to begin naval training at Far-ragu- t, and his wife, Mrs. Olive Prigmore. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Delia-Luci- a route from Camp Fannin, Texas, to Spokane, Wash., where Mrs. Eddings, a sister of Mr. Tatton, will make her home while her husband is training at Fort Leon-ard Wood, Mo. The decorative scheme for the shower complimenting Mrs. C.J. McCormick (Mary Etta Sours) Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Mike Brisk of Copperton was delightfully effective. The gifts were placed in a pink and white bassinet which also held a cunning pink and white baby doll. The favors were miniature pink baby buggies filled with candy. Potted pink begonias were placed about the rooms. Mrs. Brisk was assisted in arrange-ments by Mrs. J. D. Laycock and Mrs. J. T. Davis. Prizes at Ma-ternity Mix-u- p went to Mrs. Ray-mond Buckle, Mrs. A. M. Peter-son and Mrs. Jack P. Hoyne of Midvale. Tasty refreshments were served to 23. The evening of April 19 Mrs. Jero Reynolds was hostess at a shower honoring Mrs. Calvin Kincaid, the former Miss Iris Reynolds. Monte Carlo whist was entertainment and prizes were awarded Mrs. Boyd Reynolds, Mrs. L. E. Milner and Mrs. Rhoda Haskell. A hot supper was serv-ed to 30. Many lovely gifts were given Mrs. Kincaid, a recent bride. Mrs. J. M. Doyle of Murray, Mrs. A. V. Pvt. Crus was home on furlough. Mrs. Alice Burrows of Provo arrived Tuesday to visit several days with Mr. and Mrs. Fay Mitchell. American Legion auxiliary to post No. 30 made 48 dozen cook-ies for Bingham Boys' club social last evening. Assisting with the project were Mrs. R. A. Murano, chairman of the youth welfare committee, and Mrs. J. Dewey Knudsen, Mrs. Sam Feraco, Mrs. Mike Brisk, Mrs. William All-mar- k, Mrs. Glen Da vies, Mrs. Grant Hodges and Mrs. L.L. Wat-son. Many from Bingham attended the wedding ceremony uniting Technical Sergeant Lefty Lend-ure- s, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Lendures of Midvale, and Miss Irene Sergetis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Sergetis of Salt Lake City at the Hellenic Orthodox church Sunday, April 23. A large number of friends from various communities of Salt Lake county witnessed the rites performed by the Rev. John Vassiliades and attended the re-ception and wedding dinner fol-lowing. In compliment to Mrs. William Mclvor of U. S. Mines, who is leaving soon to make her home in Smithfield, the American Le-gion auxiliary will entertain this evening at eight o'clock at the home of Mrs. J. Dewey Knud-sen, Copperton. On the commit-tee in charge are Mrs. S. W. Jacques, Mrs. Glen Davies, Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Smith and son, Leland, of Lehi, spent April 19 with Mrs. Smith's mother, Mrs. B. C. Snyder. Leland, who is 17, left Saturday for Farragut, Ida., to begin naval training. Mrs. Lenore Andreason enter-tained at a family dinner Mon-day, the occasion being her birth-day. Present were Mr. and Mrs. H. Smernoff and daughter, Linda, of Copperton, Mr. and Mrs. Wil-liam Andreason, Mr. and Mrs. Axel Sybrowsky and children, Earl and Ann Marie, Mrs. R. W. Sumnicht and Don Andreason. Following Parent-Teach- er as-sociation meeting Mr. and Mrs. B. John Turner entertained at their home for Mr. and Mrs. J. Lynn Booth, Mr. and Mrs. Lawr-ence West, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Timothy. Delightful refreshments were served. Mrs. Glen Davies and son, Glen, came home Saturday night from Salt Lake City where they spent two days with Mrs. Donna Gardner and Joy Dean Davies. Mrs. Ronald Thompson and daughter, Patricia, of Salt Lake City, came Tuesday to visit sev-- , eral days with Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Cole. Women's Democratic club en-joyed a party Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. S. J. Kenner with Mrs. Dorlesca Kenner as assisting hostess. Five hundred prizes went to Mrs. Lenore An-dreason, Mrs. Joseph Timothy, Mrs. Don Reid and Mrs. Ellis Boren won house prize. A de-- 1 licious supper was served to twelve. The fifteenth birthday of Dar-len- e Morley was occasion for a delightful surprise party arrang-ed by her sister, Maurine Mor-ley, at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Morley. A theatre party was followed by serving of a lovely birthday cake and refreshments to Bonnie Jean Johnson, Colleen Creedon, Elaine Murray, Lena Jean Jensen, Shir-ley Jarrad. Rosie Garahana, Bar-bara Ball, Barbara Mills, Marillyn Wells, Joy Reading, Isabell Rose, Shirley Kearns. Miss Kearns, ivhose home is at Lark, visited svernight at the Morley home. CARD OF THANKS The family of the late Pfc Geo-rge W. Golesh wish to thank friends and townspeople for con-sideration, kindness and sympa-thy shown by those who sent flowers to the funeral, assisted at the home, acted as pallbearers, proffered cars or took part in services. The efficiency of traf-fic officers was also appreciated and the members of Bingham post No. 30, American Legion, are thanked for their cooperation in arrangement of services.
