Penney company store attended ri meeting in Salt Lake City Mon day for Penney managers, employees em-ployees and friends. Clair R. Mathis, Bingham manager, was at the informal banquet at the Hotel Utah from 5 to 6:30 p.m. An hour later Mr. Mathis was joined by Myrle Beckstrom, Gen-eVieve Gen-eVieve Wells, Jean Jackson and Don Deakin of the local force to see a film, "Cross Roads", the picturi2ation of the life of J. C. Penney. Mr. Penney gave an address ad-dress during the meeting, which was held at the Salt Lake City J. C. Penney store. Helen Woodland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Woodland and formerly an operator at the Bingham office of Mountain States Tel. and Tel. company, is now employed as a senior typist under civil service at the National Nation-al Naval hospital, Md., and is making her home with a sister, Mrs. Zina Thompson of Bethes-da. Bethes-da. Her new position includes dispensing and keeping record of supplies from a main storehouse. store-house. Her mother, who was in Bethesda the past winter, returned return-ed home Friday. Major Glen Wright of American Ameri-can Fork, visited Wednesday with his uncle and aunt. Mr. Lt. (j.g.) Horace Forshay and Mrs. Forshay, the former Helen Nepolis, who have been making their home at Hawthorne, Nev., arrived Sunday to visit here several sev-eral days before Lt. Forshay reported re-ported Wednesday at the Dug-way Dug-way Proving grounds. He has been permanently assigned to chemical warfare. Mrs. Forshay will remain with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Nepolis of Lead Mine, until living accommodations accommoda-tions are arranged at Dugway. The forty-eighth wedding anniversary an-niversary of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Adderley was celebrated at a family party Sunday. Dinner was served to twelve at the Bingham Bing-ham club, after which the group Eathered at the Adderley home, -ovely bouquets of roses, snapdragons, snap-dragons, iris, lilies, carnations and violets filled bowls placed about the rooms. A picture of the four Adderley grandchildren, Lieutenant (j.g.) Rex C. Tripp, Chick and Ren Adderley and Nyla Nichols, in an attractive modern glass and plastic frame, was the gift of the Adderleys daughters and sons, sons-in-law and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Adderley, Mr. and Mrs. Rex T. Tripp, Mrs. Daisie Bogart and Mr. and Mrs. Ren Nichols. A sub district conference conducted con-ducted at Midvale last Friday by H. Grant Ivins, Utah OPA director, di-rector, and his staff of specialists, special-ists, was attended by representatives represen-tatives of the Murray, Midvale, Draper and Bingham offices. and Mrs. Carl J. Meyer. Major Wright has spent the past 29 months in Australia and New Guinea. He is the son of the former A. J. Wright, who was bishop of the Bingnam LDS ward for many years. Mrs. Agnes Steele and Mrs. Gladys Adamek were at the afternoon af-ternoon meeting. They were joined by Clair R. Mathis. Chris T. Praggastis, Mrs. J. Dewey Knudsen and Mrs. Leland G.
