Show ' ' ' i Home Culture Club Celebrates Forty-Fifth Anniversary 4 The Home Culture club, oldest federated club in Springville, celebrated tbe forty-fifth, anniversary of its organization orga-nization on Friday at a meeting at the home of Mrs. M. W. Bird. Mrs. Mary J. Finley, oldest hon- orary club member, attended the meeting and was specially honored hon-ored with the presentation of a lovely corsage by the hostess. Mrs. Finley responded with a few remarks on the club organization and her affiliation with the club. Mrs. B. M. Mendenhall and Miss Sophia Packard of Salt Lake City, charter members and the only living charter members of the club were present. Mrs. Mendenhall Men-denhall gave a history of the organization and later, each nfem-ber nfem-ber present who had served as president, reported on the club's activities during her term. Past presidents present were: Mrs. Harold Christensen, Mrs. C. F. Mrs. H. A. Baxter, Mrs A. M. Ly-Packard, Ly-Packard, Mrs. C. E. Eggertsen, all and Mrs. Ronald Thorpe. ThP nrneram for the afternoon which was under direction of Mrs. Harrison Conover, president, included in-cluded vocal selections by Mrs. Howard Thorpe and Mrs. Catherine Cather-ine Wills, accompanied by Mrs. Maurice Bird. Out-of-town guests at the meeting meet-ing were Mrs. Ida Carlson of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Hattie Conover Conov-er of Provo. Mrs. -Anna Mendenhall Menden-hall of this city, was also specially invited. As a concluding feature of the afternoon, Mrs. Conover presented the club with a beautiful leather-bound leather-bound scrapbook in the club colors col-ors of green and gold, and in this club activities will be recorded. The group sang "Auld Lang Syne" around a pretty lighted birthday cake and the hostess served tasty refreshments to twenty-one club members and guests. |
