Show CONFERENCE HELD ' TO DISCUSS SCHOOL LUNCHES A national conference of State and Federal officials responsible for the operation of the national school lunch program in each state, was held in Washington, D-C, D-C, October 22 and 23. Rodney A. Ashby, state director of the school lunch program, and William R. Stockdale, representative of the Production and Marketing Administration, Admin-istration, attended the conference from Utah. Mr. Ashby represents the state administration of education, educa-tion, the sponsoring agency for the school lunch program in the state. In announcing the' conference, state PMA officials explained that delegates at the conference would consider operating procedures and general coordination of these procedures pro-cedures for all areas where the lunch programs are in effect. All $8 states, the District of Columbia and the territories are now operating operat-ing the program under the national nation-al school lunch act passed by congress con-gress at its last session. Eight million children are expected to participate in the program this year. More than 46 thousand Utah children are expected to participate. |
