Show VERNAL GETS UTAH FIELD HOUSE OF NATURAL HISTORY Governor Herbert B. Maw, the Utah Publicity and Industrial Development De-velopment Commission and Vernal city officials joined in cornerstone-laying exercises for the Utah Field House of Natural History His-tory at Vernal, October 16. Built by Publicity and Industrial Development department funds totaling $200,000.00, the museum is about one-fourth completed. When finished, the museum will house Indian artifacts, geological specimens, and fossilized prehistoric prehis-toric animal bones. The building will also accommodate a state publicity department information booth for tourists, thousands of whom will visit the museum when passing through Vernal on U. S. Highway 40. The Uintah Basin has long been an attraction to geologists, archaeological arch-aeological students, petroleum geologists, paleethnologists, and others. |
