Show STATE SUBMITS HEALTH REPORT Local health officers and physicians phy-sicians reported to the State Department De-partment of Health a total of 308 cases of communicable diseases for the week ending December 20, 1946. as compared with 350 cases for the previous week. One case of undulant fever was reported from Salt Lake county and again, according to the phy- i sician in charge, raw milk was the probable source of the infection. Raw milk may be the source of a number of diseases such as undulant undu-lant fever, scarlet fever, streptococcus strepto-coccus sore throat, tuberculosis, and others. Pasteurization of milk destroys the disease producing organisms or-ganisms frequently present in raw milk without effecting the quality of the milk in any way, and thus j eliminates that highly potential I source of disease. |
