Show 4 JAYCEES SPONSOR CONTESTS ON AMERICANISM The Springville Junior Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Americanism Ameri-canism essay and poster contests ! for which substantial prizes are being offered, according to Ernest Boyer, Jaycee president, who visited vis-ited the schools on Wednesday explaining ex-plaining details of the contests. The contests are for students from 12 to 18 years. The subject may be chosen but the theme, "America Is Our Birthright, Protect Pro-tect It," is suggested. A prize of $5 will be awarded to first place winner and a $2.50 prize is to be awarded second-place second-place winner, in both the poster and essay contests. Also, the winners win-ners may enter the state contests for which a $100 war bond will be presented the winner of each contest con-test and a medal to second-place winners. . The first prize is being offered by the Jaycees and the second prize by the Kolob corporation. The date of the contest closing is set for Tuesday, February 13, and it is being directed by the Americanism committee. |
