It has played a major role in sinking 44,000 tons of Japanese shipping, including a Shokaku-class carrier, and has helped to damage or probably sink another 41,000 tons. This plane is the only one of the carrier's original allotment which still is posted daily on the list of aircraft available for combat. It's logbook shows 540.3 hours of flying tihe and 167 combat hops from the carrier's -deck. |
