Show POLIO PERIL IS BELIEVED OVER With the usual polio peak of Sept. 15, twenty days past, Utah apparently has escaped a poliomyelitis polio-myelitis epidemic this year, Dr. A. A. Jenkins, state epidemiologist, reports. This statement was contained in a state health report for the week ended Saturday in which one new case of polio was listed, bringing the state's 1947 total to day to nine cases and two deaths, compared com-pared with 105 cases and seven deaths for the same period last year. The polio case was reported to be contracted by a 4-year-old boy in Carbon county. |
