Show EARLY PIONEER MILL SITES TO BE MARKED In recognition of early Springville Spring-ville pioneer projects, the establishment estab-lishment of the first flour mill built by Jacob Houtz in 185 1, and the building of the first cotton mill by Jackson Stewart, William Bringhurst and Jacob Houtz in 18 63, a special marker will be erected by Springville Daughters of the Pioneers in the near future, under the direction of Captain Josie Alleman of Camp Aaron Johnson, chairman of the marker committee. The marker will probably be unveiled on Wednesday, September Septem-ber 18, as part of the observance of the ninetieth anniversary of the founding of Springville. The cotton mill, built by Mr. Stewart, Mr. Bringhurst and Mr. Houtz, was later turned into a woolen mill, which burned down in 1914. o The albatross can fly better in a gale than in calm air. o Among naval planners, the search is on for a type of construction con-struction to cushion hits by aerial bombs. A thought is the park canoe, with its 14 soft pillows. |
