Show Local Couple Wed oAt San Tedro, Qalif. ! MR. AND MRS. FRANK L. MORGAN ENTERTAINED at dinner on Sunday at their home for Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Coday, recently re-cently of Kansas City. Mr. Coday is district manager of the inter-mountain inter-mountain territory for the Illinois Powder Mfg. Co. with which Frank Morgan is employed. Other guests included Betty Gean Coday of the U. of U., Frank Coday, student at the Columbia university, Columbia, Mo. The Coday family has moved to Utah and are making their home in Salt Lake City. The dinner was in the form of a farewell party also for "Pete" Morgan, who is leaving for Wichita Falls, Texas, as he has enlisted : in the U. S. Army Air Corp, and was leaving on Monday. THE ALPHA BETA CLUB WILL BE GUESTS of Mrs. Milan R. Straw at their regular meeting at 3 p. m., Friday at her home. The program will feature a talk on "Economic Problems," Prob-lems," by Dr. Elmer Miller. All members are urged to be present. pres-ent. THE AMERICAN LEGION JUNIOR AUXILIARY will hold their regular meeting on Monday at 7:30 p. m., Mrs. Inez Chader, leader announces. Mem-' bers are asked to contact Mrs. Chader where the meeting will be held. THE PEP CLUB GIRLS ARE PLANNING A PARTY for Saturday night at the high school, with partners to be special guests. A number of clever and ' unique features are underway for 1 the entertainment at which more than 40 members and guests are expected. j Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Allred and 1 family of Provo were recent vis- itors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. IW. T. Gore. J A nuptial note of interest to their many friends and relatives is announcement of the marriage of Miss Louise Childs, daughter of James Childs of this city, and Joseph W. Olsen, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Olsen of Tooele, formerly of Springville. The marriage took place at San Pedro, Calif, on Sunday, December Decem-ber 28, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Pearson, relatives of the groom, with Mr. Pearson a member of the San Pedro L. D. S. ward, performing the ceremony. Witnesses were J. W. Olsen, father of the groom, and Douglas Brown, cousin of the bride. The couple stood before a fern covered arch, flanked on either side with candelabra each holding hold-ing seven lighted candles. The bride was charmingly gowned in white satin and lace. Her veil finger tip length, was caught to her head with a halo of miniature min-iature carnations and she wore a gardenia corsage. Mrs. Floyd Lewis played the wedding march and also entertained enter-tained with several numbers following fol-lowing the marriage. The couple was honored with a nicely arranged wedding reception recep-tion after their marriage at which about 20 near relatives and friends attended. A buffet supper was served with a beautifully decorated decor-ated wedding cake and tall tapers in crystal holders, centering the serving table. The entertaining rooms were beautiful with decorations decor-ations of giant poinsettas and other floral arrangements suggestive of the holiday season. The bride-elect returned to Springville the past week and will make her home here indefinitely. Mr. Olsen is in the U. S. army service in California. Mrs. Olsen is a graduate of the local high school and Mr. Olsen of the Moroni high school. He recently filled a mission in Norway Nor-way and is a former student of the Brigham Young university and the University of Utah. |
