Show RED CROSS TO MAKE BIG RELIEF DRIVE The Springville chapter of the American Red Cross is beginning an intensive drive to secure its quota for the emergency relief, set at $1400, it was announced today. Every citizen is urged to cooper-: ate with officers in charge and contribute liberally to the fund. An urgent appeal has been made by church and civic leaders for support of this the second drive this year, and which is made necessary neces-sary by the countries entrance in the war. The first drive was for membership in the Red Cross which is made annually and to which many townspeople contributed, while the present campaign is for emergency relief. Ralph Snelson has been appointed ap-pointed chairman of the drive and is being assisted by A. R. Peterson, Peter-son, secretary of the chamber of commerce, as assistant chairman. The plan now is to have Relief Society teachers in each ward contact con-tact the families in their district for contributions and it is asked that every family respond to this worthy cause of relief. |
