Show SCOUT NOTE By J. F. Wingate Under direction of R. W. Doman scout executive, the first of a series of scout training meetings was held last Friday evening, in the Third ward hall. The organization and functioning function-ing of the patrol was taken up during the training class and the 15 scout executives present were organized into patrols for instruction instruc-tion work. The first patrol named Cottonwood Cotton-wood Patrol, selected Edward Boyer, leader; M. W. Bird, assistant; assist-ant; R.ay Richards, scribe; Will Whiting, pearl diver, Freeman Bird, quartermaster. For the second patrol named the .Beaver Patrol, Merle Sargent was selected leader; Will Witney, assistant; as-sistant; Carlyle Crandall, scribe; Leo Felix, morale officer; G. C. L;iney, quartermaster. The Art Patrol was organized with Shirley Thorpe, lender; A. G. Thorn, assistant; J. F. Wingate, scribe; J. T. Wheeler, cheer leader; L"e Miner, first aid. The next training course is scheduled for January 17, in the Third ward. It will take several meetings to complete the course and at the conclusion, each member mem-ber will be awarded a certificate to show completion of the training. train-ing. Announcement is made by scout executives that scout honor night exercises will be conducted in February, Feb-ruary, the exact time and place to be announced later. |
