Show 'Mrs. Abbie Bird To Be ' Honored Saturday Mrs. Abbie Bird, pioneer of Mapleton and Springville, will be honored Saturday evening with a party at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bird, in celebraton of her birthday anniversary. She will be eighty-five years old on Sunday. She expects to have all of her children present for the party, some of them coming from Idaho, some from Ogden, and others from Mapleton There will also be a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren present The party will include a luncheon lunch-eon and program given by various members of the family, and visiting. visit-ing. Mrs. Bird has lived in Mapleton since about two years after her marriage to Charles Bird in 1878. She has been especially active in social and church affairs of that community during her earlier days and is interested in its progress and development. She was born in Manti, June 13, 1858, and lived in that pioneer community, where her parents had been directed to settle, until the age of two years, when the family moved to Springville. Here she lived until movng to Mapleton Maple-ton in about 1890. Numbered among her descendants descend-ants ars six sons and daughters, forty-six grandchildren and twen-ty-f ive great grandchildren-Among grandchildren-Among the latter are five sets of twins. |
