For Mrs. Pennington Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Jose-phine E. Pennington, 90, one of the oldest residents of Springville, who died early Wednesday of complications resulting from a fractured hip, will be held Saturday Satur-day at 2 p.m. in the Third-Ninth ward chapel. Bishop Clarence Jen- sen of the Ninth ward, will be in charge. Friends may call at the home of a daughter and son-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. George Harmer, 282 East Fourth North ' street, Friday evening eve-ning and Saturday, before the services. Burial will be in the City cemetery under direction of the Claudin funeral home. Born in Norway, AuTiist 23, 1862. Mrs. Pennington came to this country with her parents at the age of six vears. The family settled set-tled in Milton. Morgan county, where she spent her eaiiv womanhood. woman-hood. While settled in Milton, she served as president of the earlv-day earlv-day Retrenchment Society and she took an active part in the LDS church during her earlier life. She was married to Henrv Pennington Pen-nington in the Salt Lake Endowment Endow-ment House,, February 2, 1882. At various times, they made their home jn Croden. Colorado, and Echo, Summit countv. Mr. Pennington Pen-nington died October 13. 1900. Mrs. Pennington was the oldest of five living generations. She is survived by five of seven sons and daughters. They are: Mrs. Georee (Alice) Harmer; Mrs. Wm. M. (Kate) Mower: Ted. Harrv and Bill Pennington all of Sorino-ville. There are also 16 grandchildren. 35 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. |
