Show Jeune Mere Club Hears Senator Thorn Senator Grant Thorn gave an informative and thought-provoking talk before members of the Jeune Mere Club when they met last Wednesday evening, at the home of Mrs. Fay Hawmond. The program was preceded by a delicious delic-ious tray luncheon. Senator Thorn urged the women wo-men to make a special effort to vote and influence their friends to do likewise. He stressed the point that only 51 percent -of the American Amer-ican people voted in the last presidential presi-dential election. If we lose the right to vote, we will surely loose our freedom, he said. He pointed to the fact that Communists vote 100 percent. Mrs. Margaret Blackett was in charge of the program and conducted con-ducted a short business session, thanking the ladies for their part in the Poney Express drive. Mrs. Frances Clark read the club collect. col-lect. Following the talk by Senator Thorn, an informal discussion of various Questions, was held. Draw prizes were awarded to Mrs, Naomi Thorn and Mrs. Ina Reynolds. |
