Show Lions Will Aid Blind; Also 7th Ward Scouts Sight conservation and the care of the blind has long been a project pro-ject of the Lions club and the Springville organization is planning plan-ning a project to aid in the program, pro-gram, locally, according to Marvin Mar-vin Warren, club president. The club had planned to collect deer hides, but upon learning that Seventh ward Scouts had already worked out plans for this fund raising project, the Lions decided to help the organization. It was turned over to the Boys and Girls Committe of which R. L. Wilson is chairman and the deer hunters are asked by the Lions to bring the animal hides to Charles Porter or Leo Cutler, who will turn them over to the Seventh ward Scouts. The Lions will continue with their project to aid those who need glasses and cannot afford the eve care, under direction of Arnold Arn-old Roylance, committee chairman. The Lion club meeting is postponed post-poned due to the deer hunt, the next meeting being announced for November 13. President Warren also reports that work is progressing on the Lions Home Building project. Almost Al-most 100 percent of the membership member-ship has turned out to help. The basement and foundation is in and work is now underway on the plumbing and radient heating system in the home. |
