Show Assistance act of laoz. ne uie an veterans to check their educational educa-tional benefits, as veterans must start their education or training by August 20, 1954 or two years after date of discharge or release from active service, whichever is later, or lose their educational benefits. Vocational School Spring Term Registration Set Evening School Spring term classes began Monday night at the Central Utah Vocational School. Registration continues through Thursday, February 18th, according accord-ing to Mable Olson, Registrar. Evening classes provide for the acquisition of additional skills and knowledge by people who are already al-ready employed in the trade. Special Spec-ial classes for the apprentices and journeymen are organized whenever when-ever the number of students warrant war-rant it. Re-training is frequently necessary because of changes in business and industry or because people were inadequately prepared for some types of employment. Whenever the demand exists, special spec-ial classes are organized for retraining re-training or to prepare personnel for special needs in business and industry. Classes are held Monday and Tuesday; Wednesday and Thursday Thurs-day and all day Saturday. According to Donald L. Manson, chairman of the evening school, the following classes are now available at the school: Auto Mechanics Tune-up, Diesel Mechanics, Carpentry and Cabinet Making, Electricity, Radio and Electronics, Machine Shop, Welding, Weld-ing, Architectural Drafting, Structural Struc-tural and Machine Drafting, Jig and Fixture Design, Tractor Maintenance Main-tenance and Repair, Business Education, Edu-cation, which includes: Accounting, Type and Shorthand, Business Machines Ma-chines and Show Card Writing. New classes which will be starting start-ing are, Blueprint Reading for the Metal Trades and Blueprint Reading Read-ing for the Building Trades. Central Utah Vocational School is an accredited school for Korean Veterans and Mr. Manson states that classes are available for the Korean veteran who is eligible to persue his education or traimng under the Veteran's Readjustment |
