Show City Studies Improvements for New Housing Projects Here v Springville city councilmen at a regular meeting Monday evening, approved plans for the new housing project being developed by Grant Nielson in the Northeastern section of the town. The approval however is subject to a new ordinance which is in the process of study by the council. coun-cil. Among other items being considered con-sidered is the development of new streets in the housing division at city expense, when a sufficient number of houses are constructed to warrant the new street. The new housing project for which plans are well underway, is to be known as Imperial Heights. The council waited on a delegation delega-tion from Brookside which requested re-quested city assistance in opening up a drain which seems to be clogged clog-ged resulting in the flooding of basements in portions of the Brookside housing area. A sum of $995 was approved by the council members to pay for the work of pruning trees which interfere with power lines throughout through-out the city. It was reported at the meeting that the fence around the disposal plant had been wompleted and the work accepted by the council with final payment approved. Bids are also being asked by the council for the construction of approximately 2000 feet of 6-inch water line and about 5000 feet of eight-inch sewer line to be installed in various sections of town. Part of the water line and sewer line is to be installed in the vicinity vicin-ity of the new Hill Crest section, between canyon avenue and Eighth East, where a number of new homes have been constructed and others are in the process of being built. Other portions of the sewer and water lines will be put in west of the Westside school where a new street is being opened and plans underway for a number of new homes. A smaller potions of the new lines are to be put a short distance east of Main street at Fifth North. Bids for the new lines are to be submitted at the City Recorder's office until 7:30 p.m., July 16. |
